Pool house plans

A pool house is a small building by the pool with a place to change, a bathroom and often a kitchenette, sometimes with a bed for guests. Our two plans have 400 to 600 sq ft of finished space and open to the water through wide sliders.

Pool house with bath and kitchenette

A lounge with an 8 ft slider to the patio, a kitchenette along the back, and a bathroom with its own outside door so wet swimmers never cross the lounge. A small room keeps the pool gear.

What counts

What counts in the square footage

All rooms inside the walls are finished, so the storage room counts along with the lounge. The 235 sq ft pool deck and the covered patio are outdoors, and a pool house is measured on its own, never added to the main house.

Each room is measured inside its walls. The finished area of a house is measured to the outside of the exterior walls (ANSI Z765), so it is larger than the rooms added up.

Questions

Pool house plans: questions

About these pool house plans. Can’t find your answer? Send us a message.

What is the typical size of a pool house?

Most are between about 200 and 600 sq ft. Ours have 400 and 600 sq ft; the larger one has room for a guest bed.

What makes a pool house a pool house?

Its place by the pool and what it is for: changing, a bathroom you can reach from outside, shade, and somewhere to keep towels and pool equipment. With a bedroom and a kitchen it starts to work as a guest house.

Can I change these plans?

Yes. Click Open in the editor under a plan and it opens as your own plan in the Squaremetry editor, with the same numbers as on this page. Move a wall and every area and the total update.

Is this a construction drawing?

No. This is an example floor plan, not a construction drawing. The Squaremetry team drew it for this page; it has no address. For a permit you need drawings from a qualified designer.
