A blank panel schedule
Most residential panels number the breakers odd on the left and even on the right. Write what each breaker feeds in plain words, like "Kitchen counter, left of the sink", not "Kitchen".

The same schedule, filled in from a plan
This small house has 8 circuits and 20 points. Points are lights, outlets and appliance connections; switches do not count as points. The cable length comes from Lay all cables: 505′ 1″ in all.

What labels are required on an electrical panel?
The National Electrical Code asks that every circuit is identified as to its clear, evident and specific purpose, on a directory on the face or inside of the panel door (NEC 408.4). A state inspection checklist says it the same way; your inspector applies the edition your area adopted.
The editor writes down what you drew: the name you gave each circuit and the rooms where its points are. It does not check a circuit against the code.

The one-line diagram
The single-line diagram shows the main switch, each RCD with its circuits (the editor's word for a ground-fault breaker group), and the circuits without one, with the breaker and the number of points. A 240 V range shows two poles.
Spaces in the panel
The editor counts spaces: 8 breakers take 9 spaces, because a 240 V circuit like the range takes two.
How it works in the editor
- Draw your home, or type a list of rooms. Then turn on Systems.
- Under Symbols, place lights, switches, outlets and a meter cupboard (your panel). An outlet or switch lands against the wall at its usual height.
- Under Fuse box, set the main switch and the supply, and click Add circuit. Name the circuit, pick the breaker, the RCD and what it is for, then click Put symbols on this circuit.
- Click Lay all cables: each point gets a run from the panel or the point before it, with its length.
- Under Fuse box, click Panel schedule as PDF. You get the schedule and a single-line diagram, and every sheet says it is a drawing aid.
